About Chandra Bhanu
I grew up in the metropolitan city of Kolkata (Calcutta), India. The city has a rich cultural heritage of its own, with a very profound literary and artistic background. All over the city one can find innumerable inexpensive tea stalls where intellectuals from all walks of life gather to discuss, exchange and share ideas on a regular basis. Renowned poets, musicians, painters and actors have added extra flavour to its cultural heritage. I grew up amidst all these.
The college that I joined was a boys' college. As there were no girls to talk to and interact with, we used to feel that something, somewhere was missing. Everyday-gatherings of students, before or after class hours, always remained somewhat incomplete.
After completing graduation in Accounting, I did my Masters degree, also in Accounting. I taught accounting for several months in a college. It was at this time I got acquainted with the computer. The year was 1985. The next 15 years I remained completely glued to the computer. I got a Systems Analyst's Diploma and later joined the same institute as a teacher. It is here that I met my wife who was a student there. Now she is a school-teacher. We got married in 1989. Our son was born in 1990. He is currently (2012) doing an engineering course.
In childhood I grew up amidst nature. Our house was surrounded by various kinds of trees. There was a lot of open space all around within our boundary wall. Also there was a pond with many fishes in it. I love catching fishes. My love for nature developed at a very early age. We had two watch-dogs whom I loved a lot. But eventually we had to sell off that house and land, as it was becoming increasingly difficult to look after that property. We sold the whole property and bought a comparatively small house where we now live.
Since childhood I have been very much attracted by art and romanticism. I believe that the most valuable things in life are not those one can get for money.
In my childhood days I started painting pictures with great enthusiasm. That used to give me enormous joy and happiness. However I could not pursue in that field as my parents wanted me to be something else, a successful careerist in the traditional way, an accountant, an engineer, a teacher or something like that. But that never clicked.
In 2001 I completely moved away from my work area and started concentrating on drawing, painting, art, philosophy and spirituality, and writing articles and essays.
One always remains a student. This life itself is a huge classroom. One is always learning. Learning never ends.
My earnest request to my honoured viewers/visitors: Please keep in touch. I will really cherish your comments / suggestions. Those are invaluable!

About This blog
This is basically a personal blog where I have started to record certain realities of life, the way I am as a child of this mother earth, the lessons I have learnt in life through experience, as a son of my parents, as a husband of my wife, as the father of my son, as a teacher, or simply as a person living within a society.
areas where people tend to go wrong, which I don't want people to commit,
to refresh numerous basics of life in the minds of people, thereby sharing my thoughts and feelings with people.
I have also started including pictures ( paintings and pencil drawings) done by me, which I want people to see, and possibly enjoy.
As time progresses, I will try to enrich my blog with more topics related to plain wisdom, ethics, morality, principles and humour. In the process more "how to do it"s may also come up. I want to keep things as simple as possible so that someone reading it can grasp it with ease. I hope more and more new areas will come up to the surface in future with which I can enrich my blog.
